Kim E. Gwozdz, Award-Winning Interior & Furniture Designer

“When did I become interested in drawing and design? When I was six years old,” recalls Kim E. Gwozdz, principal designer of Provance, the Phoenix-based interior design company founded by Gwozdz in 1988. With an eye for design and a love of all things art, she is known in her professional community for her professionalism, exuberant personality, and incredible attention to detail.
She studied at the University of Florence, Italy during her junior year of college, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in design and art history from the University of Arizona.
She offers her clients top-of-the-line services, including residential interior design, hospitality, and commercial design, remodeling, and new construction design.
Colleagues and clients describe Ms. Gwozdz’s style as “classical contemporary,” contemporary design with classical references, enhancing all forms of architecture, from the traditional, modern, and contemporary to an eclectic mix delighting the most demanding client. “Inspired design” is an apt term, since Gwozdz is inspired by her client’s personal tastes.

Ms. Gwozdz’s classical fine art training and sophisticated flair are demonstrated throughout her work. In designing an interior space, she finds inspiration through drawing, architecture, landscape, and furniture design. Notably, her design work appears in several editions of “100 Designers’ Favorite Rooms,” and also is recognized in the first and second editions of “Great Designers of the World.” Projects designed by Gwozdz were also featured in “The New Southwest Home: Innovative Ideas for Every Room.”
In 2022, Ms. Gwozdz was featured in the 8th Edition of Millennium magazine, a publication dedicated to honoring the legacies of professionals from around the world.
A Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Ms. Gwozdz has won numerous awards for her innovative projects.
During her years as a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Ms. Gwozdz received numerous accolades, from both the National organization and local Arizona North Chapter. She was also honored with a first, second, and third place award winner for the Edwards Fields Annual Wool Rug Design Competition, and earned the Lumen Award, Cutler Award, and International Illumination Design Award.
In addition to her professional and artistic endeavors, Ms. Gwozdz has participated in a wide range of local non-profit and charitable organizations, including the Arizona Costume Institute (Phoenix Art Museum, Annual Gala Committee of the American Cancer Institute, Board of Directions of the Orpheum Theater Foundation, Junior League of Phoenix, and Agape Food Box Distribution for HIV/AIDS.
